Hello, everyone! I am so happy to find this writing group online. I don’t have a local group, so this is ideal. My husband and I write collabrative fantasy short fiction and novels have fun while we’re doing it. I look forward to talking with you all.

Hi, Esther and husband. Good to meet y’all. I’m new also and I’ve been gratified by how helpful and friendly people are here. I’ve gotten some great feedback. Look forward to seeing something y’all have written.

Welcome Jon! I think you’ll like it here…

There is a fair number of new writers these days. The more the merrier, that is what I say!

Preston McConkie
Hi, Jon. I’m not a Twitterer but I hope you’ll post work in here and comment on other people’s stuff.
-
Jonathan Hansen
I’m sure I will, at least when I have something ready. I’m more a novel writer than a short story writer, so there’s a longer wait time. As for commenting… let me know when you have something posted.
-
Preston McConkie
Thanks. I have a novelette posted now. If you had time to read and comment I’d be grateful. It’s 15,000 words. Here’s the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OD6-SlPare1ZQjhOistyC2wBC5Ax7pLrpsf8hEbXsqM/edit

I will, but it will take me a couple of days.

No rush. Thank you.

Welcome around, Jon. I hope you’ll find it engaging to post whatever you see fit and/or take a look at other writers work. There’s an open workshop group you may find interesting.

Welcome to eFiction! Like Preston, I’m not a Twitterer–I can’t express anything worthwhile in 140 characters or less. You can follow me at my website. I’m also a reviewer for Bookpleasures.com. Between my novels, short stories, blog, and reviewing, I’m ashamed to say that I don’t have much time to look at other people’s manuscripts. I…[Read more]

As I said in my review of eFiction for Amazon, this is a great eZine…and a great community of writers and readers. Welcome aboard! As I used to tell my students, ask questions. You can bet I will when appropriate. Like, what’s the scene depicted on your icon. My old eyes have trouble making it out….

Hey, can anyone tell me what these points are for? I suspect they have to do with our power to vote for stories we’d liked to see published. I don’t know when it’s appropriate to give points to someone.
-
Suzanne Conboy-Hill
No, I don’t know what they’re for either!
-
Jay Debruyne
I read a post from Doug a short while back, and apparently at the moment they’re useless. I think they may be used in the future at some point.. :/ Who knows!?

Hi, I’m Preston. I’m a 43-year-old bachelor and I’ve resumed writing fiction after a mixed career of journalism and truck driving. I came across this magazine in Amazon, subscribed, and was impressed. Hi Preston,
I friended you and decided to put my welcome message here since I can say something borderline intelligent about the problem you mentioned. So welcome…and read on.

Steve, thanks so much for sharing your valuable experience. Hi Preston,
I wasn’t implying that I agree with the study. I personally think that (a) some low-priced eBooks are very, very good; and (b) authors tend to undervalue their work now because the field is so competitive. I don’t know how this eBook pricing will all shake out in the long run.
I try to use pricing creatively. For my Infinity…[Read more]

There. That’s better. The sight of an empty profile wall is depressing. Since I’m brand new to this place that strikes me as a great site for authors and readers, I took the liberty of decorating my wall with some ”Hi, I just got here,” stuff. Essentially it’s a news/networking site. There are different categories depending on a group’s particular interest. For example, if you like writing, you could join a “subreddit” for writing, in which the community speaks about writing and books and things. The main reddit page is just an accumulation of articles, pictures and personal…[Read more]

Welcome, Tyler. This is a stunning community you have landed upon. You will not want to leave
Ayup. Welcome, sir.
As Jay said, you’re stuck with us now, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Ha! Speak for yourself, Phillip. And welcome Tyler!
And now you’re not just a new member, Tyler, but someone reviewed in the pages of eFiction itself. I’ll bet a lot of writers would like your help preparing their own stories for publication.
Well, you just met me, and welcome! As stated above, ours is an interesting community. I think you and I probably represent the extreme ages in the group, with me fading into the sunset and you, like Venus, awakening to the dawn (I bet the rest of you can’t believe I wrote that!).
